Travel Tips!

 Whether you are going on vacation for a short period or extended period, there are couple of tips I have:

.... Before you travel make a list of things you need.

.... Do not over pack with unnecessary things.

.... Bring medication in case you get diarrhea or the flu.

... Arrive at the airport in time, you may never know what will delay you.

... If you know you are overweight in luggage, be nice to the flight attendant and she/he may be lenient.. lol

... If you have a complaint please be respectful with your queries you may proceed faster.

...  Have a back up plan of  how you will depart the airport after landing.

We try to understand, but is that really necessary to become sympathetic or empathetic to one's pain? This is the theme that underscored the recent documentary Self-portrait, based on the life story of the renowned photographer Lena Marie Fossen, who struggled with the eating disorder anorexia nervosa. Lena’s anorexia began at 10 years old, when she decided that she wanted to remain a child and not grow up, why she came to this conclusion was never addressed in the documentary. I think to some extent all of us are nostalgic to our childhood, a time of innocence, being carefree, being protected and no worries at all, perhaps in some way she wanted to hold onto this time. Cezanne, Matisse and Picasso

Paul Cézanne born in 1839, Aix-en Provence was a Post-impressionist French painter who became the bridge between impressionism and early modern art such as Cubism. One of his most recognized pieces is ‘The Large Bathers’ that was produced towards the end of his life.  In this painting he did not conform to nineteenth century methods and was applauded by critics for its wide spaces, well –formed figures and use of color (Artble, 2013).
