Well let me say this, whilst surfing youtube, I came across my first korean drama Lie to me, and since then I cant stop watching these dramas. I have also ventured into japanese, taiwanese and chinese dramas. I love to travel and since I can't afford to go there, wathcing these movies give me an idea of what the asian culture is like.

This is the theme that underscored the recent documentary Self-portrait, based on the life story of the renowned photographer Lena Marie Fossen, who struggled with the eating disorder anorexia nervosa. Lena’s anorexia began at 10 years old, when she decided that she wanted to remain a child and not grow up, why she came to this conclusion was never addressed in the documentary. I think to some extent all of us are nostalgic to our childhood, a time of innocence, being carefree, being protected and no worries at all, perhaps in some way she wanted to hold onto this time. Paul Cézanne born in 1839, Aix-en Provence was a Post-impressionist French painter who became the bridge between impressionism and early modern art such as Cubism. One of his most recognized pieces is ‘The Large Bathers’ that was produced towards the end of his life.  In this painting he did not conform to nineteenth century methods and was applauded by critics for its wide spaces, well –formed figures and use of color (Artble, 2013).
